their background. >> we can take principles of job training and discipline and structure that are military in nature and put them in a frame work to help people understand what it takes not just to get a job but keep a job. >> reporter: he got his job with a contracting firm. he is a sheet metal aplenties. the character helped build this facility in west baltimore. >> he, as an employee of that firm, a former graduate of the program worked on constructing this building. it doesn't get any better than that. >> going there working every day. it felt good i was giving thing back. >> reporter: as others prepare to graduate and begin their job search he offers words of wisdom. >> don't let no grass grow under your feet. a good family support is great. make sure you connect with the right people. sometime we return to the same neighborhoods doing the same thing and all you are going do is get the same thing.

>> while the center is proud of all the graduates they are broadening their focus to reach out to political leaders to have an impact on public policy. they are asking recommendations from president obama's fatherhood task force. the baltimore city police officer stabbed outside of a baltimore city strip club is out of the hospital it happened this morning in edge mere after the club close. the officer was leaving the strip club when he was attacked. the officer managed to get off a shot on his attacker. the man shot by maryland state troopers after throwing rocks at cars in cecil county is facing assault charges. the 50-year-old tossed large rocks at drivers along route 40 on tuesday. one driver said he pulled out a

west. much cooler air is on the way. we'll tell you about it coming up. >> thank you. now to a developing story out of florida. an infant missing for five days has been found safe. the case has taken an odd twist after police say the girl's mother was a part of her disappearance. we have the story. >> reporter: detectives found the little and by unharmed after a massive five-day search. >> we are the proud pop pas of a little girl. >> reporter: she was inside a wooden box under a bed at the home of her babysitter, susan baker. >> the box was shoved in the back and a lot of material in front of it to deceive anyone who was looking. >> reporter: the child apparently was fed during the or deal. doctors say she's healthy. they say the baby's mother decided to give the 7-month-old to the babysitter who is also her step aunt. that was saturday morning. ten hours later mercer reported

her missing. >> the family is joyous right now. >> my life will be a lot better now that i know she's safe. >> reporter: for almost a week search crews scoured marshes around the baby's home and a remote part of the florida panhandle. the sheriff says finding the baby was emotional. >> she was in the box for almost 12 hours. in a closed box. >> reporter: both the baby's mother and sitter are in jail. they are facing several charges including desertion, neglect of a child and filing a false police report. two recent cases shed a disturbing light on how authorities deal with sex offenderrerses once they are back on the street. cleveland a community is playing for the 11 women found dead inside the home of registered softer. many are pointing fingers upset

texas. mass confusion after a mass murder at fort hood. 12 people are dead. 31 injured. among the dead one gunman. two others are in custody. tonight abc reports the major is responsible for the shooting. president obama spoke about the tragedy in fort hood a few moments ago. >> it is difficult enough when we loose these brave americans in battles overseas. it is horrifying that they should come under fire on an army base on american soil. >> the base is home to the first calvary division deploy in iraq. all nine schools within the on the base were put on immediately
